Thermal printing camera for £18
At the last State of the Browser after party, Manuel Matuzović was hanging around and randomly snapping pictures with friends using an instant thermal printing camera that he nicked from one of his daughters. What a fun it was! The next day I ordered the exact same one off Amazon for £18 for my daughter myself.
It’s shocking how cheap some tech has become. This little gadget came with a 32GB SD card, 3 rolls of thermal paper and a set of colourful pens. Yesterday I bought a salmon fillet for £18 (I have already eaten it), and a week ago I spent £20 on four cans of my favourite non-alcoholic beer. Totally not related to the camera random thought. Sorry!
What would be the post about a camera without pictures? I have plenty! I was so excited about the fact that you can embed the date and time on the pic, but I forgot to set the right one. Welcome to my life. And I really hope you don’t have a high-quality expectation from a camera worth less than a 4-pack of beer. All the pics below are iPhone captures of physical pictures, re-cropped and with a few level tweaks made, nothing else. I absolutely love this aesthetic!
